Antarctic ice is growing to record levels

Antarctic ice is growing to record levels. We are clearly at the beginning of the next ice age. If we burn
enough fuel, we may be able to postpone it a little bit. Very little.
The last Dalton minimum occurred when there were only about one billion people on the earth. That
was 1790 to 1830. That low-temperature portion of "the little ice age" caused starvation in many lands.
This time we will have 8 billion people to feed and we will be prepared for "Anthropogenic Global
Warming" whilst what will be happening is Nature (Sun, the dominant climate maker, human hubris
notwithstanding) caused Global Cooling.
How prepared are we? We have switched to Just-In-Time food supplies and are converting food-to-fuel
corn to ethanol causing starvation and food riots around the world. Stupidity reigns over the land.
Arctic ice does not rest upon bedrock, and thus its melting does not affect world sea levels. Antarctic Ice
DOES rest on bedrock, however, and the increase in ice in the Antarctic will eventually cause lower sea
levels.
The sea is cooling overall according to the 3000 buoys deployed in the oceans.
The anthropogenic global warming models predict both polar regions to warm substantially. Obviously
the current AGW models are wrong. Corrected models predict cooling and not warming and are being
rejected on the grounds that they don't agree with "conventional wisdom".
My neighbors traveled to Alaska and "saw first hand" the effects of Global Warming. It will be hard to
warn of cooling given the high rate of belief in warming.
My MIT professor, Richard Lindzen
(http://www-eaps.mit.edu/faculty/lindzen.htm) gave a talk to the alumni group in Chicago back last year.
He has been predicting fewer hurricanes, which is what has happened. He also is very skeptical about
AGW. He is a member of the IPCC and disagreed with the Summary findings.
Here is an interesting story he told. When Siberia depended on a central communist government for
supplying fuel, it behooved them to lie a little and claim lower temperatures so that they would be given a
larger allotment of coal and other fuels. More recently, the temperature are less politically driven and
hence perceived warming. In addition, there has been actual warming in the arctic and cooling in the
Antarctic.
Personally I am pro-green and want to increase plants everywhere. The obvious desire of plants is that
we give them more CO2 to breathe. It is simply Orwellian Newspeak to claim that LESS CO2 is good for
plants.
I carry my picket sign saying "More CO2" and trees hug me! (Or at least that is my fantasy.)
