Airplane versus Bird

A bird contains its own integrated brain whereas the common airplane uses human pilots as its central
thinking mechanism.  This is a poor design simply because the human brain is not directly connected to
the airplane's controls and therefore a bottleneck forms at the interface of the human's eyes, hands and
feet to the airplane's controls and readout devices.

A more efficient design would be like the bird where the whole mechanism and brain evolved together
into a coherent whole.
