Decision Tree Regarding How to Construct a Turing Android

We should plan on silicon circuits for now.  If another technology evolves, we will adopt it.

Progress is being made by:
-Scanning the human brain.  Scanning resolution is improving by at least 2x per year.
-Well thought out experiments on the brain.
-Simulating parts of the human brain.

-Speed of processors.  Speed is increasing at about 1.5 to 2x per year.
-Number of processors.  Intel predicts 2x per year.  80 processors in a PC by 2011.
-Software in robots. DARPA challenges.  Desert then, city Nov 3, 2007.
-Software in video games.
-Pattern recognition advances are being hidden to hide the threat to humans.  (e.g. R2 Technologies
breast cancer beats standard human radiologists and matches humans radiologists who specialize in
breast cancer.  nb R2 bought by Hologix)
-Internet is getting faster, allowing networks of computers to be used together.
-Mass storage is getting larger.  7.5 terabytes by 2010 according to Seagate.

The Brain Architecture Management System (BAMS) is designed to be a repository of information about
brain structures from different species, and has a set of inference engines for processing the
neurobiological data. BAMS contains to date four interrelated modules: Brain Parts (brain regions, major
fiber tracts, and ventricles), Cell Types, Relations (between structures from different neuroanatomical
atlases), and Connections.
