The Human Limbic System is Non-Verbal and Yet Provides Major Judgements

Paul MacLean, a neurobiology pioneer, said: "The limbic system, that primitive brain that can neither
read nor write, provides us with the feeling of what is real, true and important.”

By this he means that the current understanding of the limbic system is that it has no major connections
to the cortical areas responsible for oral and written communications and yet provides the judgements
as to whether the information should be believed or not.
