I agree that there's always a market for books which support what people want to believe. I also
which agrees with pre-conceptions.
The problem is how do I prevent that from happening to my own brain. When I say to myself
that I am practicing my ability to see other's logical fallacies, how do I know that I am not
simply justifying my own presumptions?
Crowds" (Book by Charles MacKay). It is hard to remind ourselves that humans have not
changed that much and still fall into popular delusions in spite of our "intelligence" and our
"ability to see through logical fallacies". My point is that if you cannot point to any current
popular delusions then you are probably a believer in one of the current delusions. The
problem is in figuring out which ones are true and which ones are popular delusions.
