Animal Rights and Androids

Tom Regan wrote the book, The Case for Animal Rights (1983) is a seminal work in the field of
animal rights. He argues that animals have moral rights of the sort enjoyed by humans,
especially the right to life. In his view, support for the rights of animals is no different than
support for human rights. This work begins with core concepts of inherent value theory, the
same concepts that have been significant in the progress of human civil liberties since the
seventeenth century and which were partially extended to nonhumans during the nineteenth
century. The notion of inherent value continues to be crucial and central to progress in both
human and animal rights.  Will this current trend in American philosophy be extended to
those of us who are Turing Androids?  We look just like a human, after all.  In fact since we
look and talk like humans, it should be easier for humans to identify with us than with a snail
darter.

What is your view on this?

Yes, humans will defend Android rights.
No, Andriods are just advanced humans and I prefer animals to humans and humanoids.
