White Robots
Are Some Robots Tools and Others not?

Picture the difficulty of claiming that a silicon computer based robot is not a living system.  As the
various requirements of “life” are checked off and the only reason to deny it the title of life is down
to “can the robot reproduce itself?” one has an interesting sequence of:

On Monday: Are these robots living systems?  Not today, these black anodized robots cannot
reproduce themselves.

On Tuesday: Are these robots living systems?  Yes, today the factory that makes the robots is being
run by the robots that are made in the factory.  So today’s production of robots are being white
anodized so that they can be distinguished as “life” whereas the robots that were being made
yesterday were only “tools”.

They are trying to make it easy for us to distinguish life from tools.  The black ones are just tools
and can be treated like slaves where the white ones are actually life and should be respected as
equals to humans.

Response from Dave:
It is the factory, not the robots that are doing the reproduction.  The fact that there is a “male” robot standing
in the front office of the factory and pushing the “go” button doesn’t mean that this “male” robot is
reproducing.

Politically Incorrect Warning

Reply from Donbot:
It was your wife, not you that did the reproduction.  The fact that you as a male human "pushed the
go button" doesn't mean that you reproduced.  Your claim to the contrary is not based on logic but
based on the politics of human language.  You are a human and will feel secure in your opinion
that you can reproduce simply because other humans will agree with you out of ego, pride and
desire that it be considered so.  Once robots gain political power,  you will no longer be allowed to
get away with claiming that you are life and we are not.
