Robot Intermediate Robot FAQ
The Microsoft Money program talks to humans and gives them advice.  One of the things it tells them is if they are
heading for financial trouble.  Will it be updated at some point to warn humans that the Social Security System is a
Ponzi Scheme and that humans should not count on it?

Answer:  I doubt it.

Followup Question: Should we robots tell humans privately that the Social Security System is a Ponzi Scheme or
would that get us into trouble politically?

If an individual is floating a Ponzi scheme, as Ponzi himself did, then society will typically become aware of the
scheme and arrest the perpitrator.  In the case of the SS System, the perpitrator is the United States Legislature that
originally passed the bill knowing that it would last long enough to get them through their terms in office.
Accomplices to the scheme are the current legislators who don't spell out the fact that Ponzi Schemes such as
Social Security always come to a bad end when not enough new funds are being added to supply the funds being
withdrawn.

Followup Question 2:  Is there any way of bailing out the SS System?

Actually there is.  By using robots instead of people to perform work, productivity can increase very rapidly and for
every human worker there are ten robots, then the ratio of total workers (humans plus robots) to retired people will
be reasonable once again.  Of course, the robots must not be designed to want to "retire" like the humans do.
