Ted Williams Brain
One of the members of the trust committee controlling the head of Ted Williams claims that
the goal is to use Ted’s DNA to clone his whole body and then to program his cloned brain to
be close to containing the memories and training of his original brain. The details of how this
is to be done is, of course, is left to future researchers.
The assumption, of course, is that humans will still be in power when that technology is
available or that if they are not, that the succeeding species which dominate the planet will be
interested in humans watching baseball.
My view is that if I can bring someone back and I can choose between Einstein and Ted,
perhaps Albert will be the first one chosen. At that point in time, we may well accept that
Einstein’s brain is more easily implemented in silicon and that a computer will simulate his
brain at 1000 times the original speed. We could all go to the Einstein web site where his
replicated and enhanced brain resides and ask him questions...and get answers. Much more
interesting to me than to watch Ted Williams play baseball.
