Maggie Mae was in a hurry

Everytime Joe tried to relate to Maggie Mae, he found that she was focussed only on whether
they were going to get married.  The idea of dating, according to Joe, was to practice living like
you would after you were married.  Practice talking about the weather.  Meet each other's
friends.  Practice relating to each other's friends.

Maggie Mae had a theory.  Her theory was that Joe was tight with his money.  Joe had a
theory.  His theory was that Maggie Mae was manipulative, jumped to conclusions before
having enough facts and would talk down her fiance to her friends.

Joe felt that everything he wrote in a letter to Maggie Mae would be looked at with her colored
glasses.  The color of those glasses was to tint everything he wrote towards the question
"does this indicate that we are getting married or not?"

Obviously this was a big turn-off for Joe.
