Hans Moravec published the following slide in the late 1990s and updated it in the early 2000s.  It depicts the Millions of Instructions
Per Second available in computer hardware divided by $1000.  In other words, if a laptop costs $1000 and is capable of processing
1 billion instructions per second, it would be placed on the chart at the 1 million mark (1 billion divided by 1000) opposite the date
on which it was first available.  

































One problem with the chart is that it often confuses readers because they don't notice that the left part of the chart is MIPS per
$1000 and that the right part of the chart is just MIPS.
