Brain Simulation

During an interview on C-SPAN, Raymond Kurzweil stated that we now have simulated successfully
20 of the about 200 brain areas in the human brain.

In Neural Computation, Vol 18, 2923-2927 A Distributed Computing Tool for Generating Neural
Simulation Databases.  Robert J. Calin-Jageman and Paul S. Katz, pkatz@gsu.edu Dept. of Biology,

In order to test out neuron or neuron networks, they provide software called NeuronPM which runs
NEURON simulations on other computers as a Windows-based screen saver.  NeuronPM may be
hosted on any Apache/PHP/MySQL server.  This demonstrates the kind of progress which is being
made in understanding how the human brain works.  December 2006.
