Weigela is pronounced Wi jeel eea
For proof, I offer YouTube videos made by professional gardners:

Scünci with a double dot (umlaut) over the ü is pronounced Scun see whereas my
daughters pronounced it Scrun chee.  Since "all of the kids at school" said it that way, it
became the local "truth".

For proof that the corporation says it
Scun see, check their current advertisement for a
steamer:

To my knowledge, umlaut is the using of the second vowel for the sound of words such as
Weigela in German.  The other meaning of umlaut is the double dot over <ä>, <ö> and <ü>
in certain words.  Note the <ä> in the German word Känguru, an English loanword for
"kangaroo", and the <ü> in Büro from French bureau.

Sc
ünci not only uses the umlaut over the ü, but places the ü in red.
