Robot Competing with Robots
Picture two brands of robots working at a restaurant. There is a closet with two doors, one
which leads inside and one which opens to the outside. Any disfunctioning robot is placed in
the closet for pickup and repair. Who decides which robot is defective? The other robots, of
course.
Now we have politics. The more aggressive robots may just decide that one of the robots
manufactured by the 'other company' is 'defective'. The statistics will show that the less
aggressive robots are placed in the 'repair closet' more often and therefore appear to be more
frequently defective. This becomes an example of 'office politics' among robots.
Once this is discovered, part of the competition between robot manufacturers will be to set the
aggressiveness dial higher on your robots than it is set on the competition's robots.
