Bill Gates wrote an article a few years ago in which he noted that robots were going to be the
next revolution in technology and follow a path similar to microcomputers. Many people feel
threatened in the US but this phenomenon is rare in Japan. This may be why half of the
industrial robots are in Japan. Will reticence leave the US behind in robot technology?
