AT&T Apple iPad Review
Walt Mossberg in the Wall Street Journal says that it is very nice but no camera, no flash player and no
multitasking. It will have plenty of apps.
It can display a series of pictures in a slide show fashion, but there is no Kickstand for tabletop usage
which would allow the unit to be used as a digital photo frame or small TV.
It doesn't lie flat on a table. Steve Jobs showed it being used in his lap. Maybe there will be stands for it.
The iPad has no flash player and therefore cannot play YouTube or similar Adobe flash videos.
There is no HDMI Port for connecting to a larger screen.
Not multitasking.
Rather than being powered by either a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor or Intel Atom processor,
it is powered by a proprietary Apple processor design patented and owned totally by Apple with no
second source availability. Many governments and corporations will not use sole sourced devices.
Many of the apps from the iPhone and iPad Touch have been ported over to the iPad. The email
reader can be used in landscape mode and show the source of the email on the left and title/summary
on the right. This should be nice.
No 4G capability and no built-in mobile hotspot. This means that unlike an Evo, you cannot connect up
to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices, including laptop, camera, music player, video player and any other
Wi-Fi-enabled device, to the 4G network.
No 8-Megapixel Camera With Autofocus for taking pictures.
No 1.3 Megapixel camera for video chat or seeing your opponents in an on-line video game.
Unlike the iPhone 3GS, you cannot touch-to-focus on a subject, because there is NO camera.
You canNOT also capture HD video with the iPad's 4G camera because there is no camera and no 4G.
Personally, even the femtotowers don't cover my property. I need Wi-Fi coverage.
