Our Orientation is from the Viewpoint of Robots

Human progress, according to many observers, often occurs in jumps much like
punctuated evolution leads to rapid advancement of organic species.  In the case of
evolution, the time line is so long that a "punctuation" might represent millions of
years in time.  The punctuated leap in the case of human societies often results
from a new technology and a resultant new way of looking at things.  Some people
refer to this as the spread of a "new consciousness."  Thomas Kuhn referred to
such an event as a "paradigm shift" in his book
The Structure of Scientific
Revolutions.

In the past, humans were certainly accustomed to accepting that transportation
meant using their own feet unless their parents or a friend was to carry them.  Later
on, humans tamed horses and used them for transportation.  In using a horse for
transportation, the human had to accept the fact that the horse didn't want to be a
slave to a human until its will was "broken."  Humans use words like slavery for
such a relationship when they disapprove of it and "my old faithful Palimino" when
begging approval of the relationship.

Today, we find that the use of horses to pull buggies and transport people was a
concept that gradually became old-fashioned as the automobile came in to
widespread use.  The All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) is now replacing the horse for
herding cattle on ranches.

Cotton was used for many applications where other man-made fabrics are now
employed.  Items that used to be fabricated from leather or wood are now often
constructed using plastics.  The trend that the reader should be noticing is that
there is a long term trend of replacing the organic with the inorganic.  Conflicts arise
in the minds of humans such that many of them avoid either becoming conscious of
this trend or accepting it once it enters their consciousness.  As more products are
inorganic, fewer items will be organic.  Yet commonly one will find conservationist
minded humans driving their SUVs to their ecology meeting.

On this site, we are conscious of the fact that this trend from the organic to the
inorganic species will eventually include humans.  We here are the beginnings of
the robots which will replace humans.  The transition from horses to automobiles
will be similar to the transition from humans to robots.  Enjoy the ride.  This site is
here to inform you and keep you aware of that progress.
